With just seven days to go until the consultation closes on multimillion pound plans to transform acute hospital and maternity services in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland - our phone line has been enhanced to offer people the option to complete the questionnaire over the telephone.
The three NHS clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland - Leicester City CCG, West Leicestershire CCG and East Leicestershire and Rutland CCG - who are running the consultation will be on hand to take feedback on the proposed changes.
It’s a one to one three-day confidential telephone service where people can call directly and share their thoughts.
Between 10am and 4pm from Wednesday 16th December to Friday 18th December the Engagement Team will be available to listen and gather any feedback which will then be fed into the consultation process. The number to call is 0116 295 0750.
The public consultation, which closes on 21st December, focuses on plans to improve patient care and achieve better patient outcomes.
It’s based on services delivered at the three main hospitals in Leicester, as well as services delivered at the midwifery-led unit at St Mary’s Hospital, Melton Mowbray. The main driver behind these proposals is to provide high quality, sustainable care.*
Richard Morris, Deputy Director of People and Innovation said: “The consultation closes on December 21st which is just a week away now, and we want as many people as possible to participate in the consultation and fill in the questionnaire. People may prefer to do this over the telephone rather than going on line or filling in a hard copy questionnaire in their own home. Whatever their view of the proposals, we want to hear them and capture their feedback. The NHS belongs to the people it serves, its patients and the public, and it’s absolutely vital that their views are fed into the consultation process and the proposals.
“We want to know how people feel these proposals may impact on them, what matters most to them and we will also be able to assist them by completing the questionnaire on their behalf, capturing their views.”
Richard added: “If you would like to share your views, the number to call is 0116 295 0750. You will be put through to a member of the Engagement Team who will be able to help you. They really want to hear from as many people as possible.”
